Radio transmissions of the complete Quran.

Would this be a good idea in the UK? Finnish Radio is doing it, according to The Washington Post.

The only translation into Finnish I can find is by this chap.

But as there are a lot of translations into English, I expect getting Muslim/Arabic scholars to agree on which translation should be broadcast would turn out to be a big problem.

This troubles me slightly "The 60 half-hour readings are accompanied by comments from the translator of the Islamic holy book and Imam Anas Hajjar of Finland’s Islamic Society." Are the comments these peoples' personal view of what the Quran means, (we know it can be used to justify a multitude of sins), or comments on the translation itself such as pointing out ambiguities?

Agree this is problematical. First, if I recall, there are 7 versions of the quran in Arabic.

Then we have the problem that many muslims state that the quran cannot be translated in any valid way.

Add in the issues of interpretation and the whole thing becomes a potentially very messy exercise.
