This forum will stay up and running as long as there are members prepared to log in and post. Actually, I think there has been more activity here today than at any time in the forum's nine-month history.

I wonder if he knows that everyone thinks he's a twat? Is it possible he believes what he writes?smudge wrote:Worth popin' in to play "spot the egotistical arsehole" though.

I think that he does.chaggle wrote: I wonder if he knows that everyone thinks he's a twat?
I don't think he does. But he's stuck in this loop of whining about the way he is treated, then saying that he is acting a character and shouldn't be taken seriously. A person "pretending" to be a troll is still a troll. If he was funny we wouldn't mind; but he is just pathetic so nobody respects him.chaggle wrote: Is it possible he believes what he writes?
There are too many giant egos in skepticism. Little fish who want to be big fish. I don't mind poking them and laughing at them, but they do get boring after a while.

Isn't it strange? Both on RatSkep and Scepticism UK he openly states he likes to 'wind people up'. As you say Bob, if it was funny or clearly meant to be so (thats what emoticons are for FFS!), not a problem. Otherwise it is called Trolling. Simples!
And yeh, Chaggle, I really think he's so far up himself he believes his own hype!
As we've talked about many times before, skeptics, scientists, all of us are flawed and we share a tendency to deceive ourselves. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes. But you would expect a skeptic to be a least a little bit able to be self critical.
