I was just going to say: A deep ravine nearby the stables from which the horse escaped. And NO-ONE looked there before calling in the swivel-eyed looney? Tell you what - I would not be boarding MY horse at that stable any time soon.

And no, it's not a euphemism. I happen to have a particular dislike for people who are cruel to animals (ditto for children). And this story indicates to me that the stable which manages these horses should not be allowed to do so, if they resort to using a looney twig-twitcher or whatever to find a big sodding horse stomping around in an obvious location right near their own premises.
