BBC and Virtue Signalling

Staff working in the BBC’s news division have been told to avoid expressing a view on any policy that is a matter of current political debate, or publicly supporting campaigns “no matter how apparently worthy the cause or how much their message appears to be accepted or uncontroversial”.
I wonder where wearing a poppy fits into that...

There is an exception to every rule, and poppies are COMPULSORY on the BBC.

I have the impression that poppies are appearing much earlier in the year, and go on being worn for much longer. Something to do with climate change? :con
