A hoax conspiracy theory that Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne is dead has resurfaced on the 14th anniversary of the release of her hit single Complicated.

I wonder how it would be possible to prove such a theory wrong? Even DNA evidence would presumably be dismissed as faked...

My understanding is that the only reason this story has resurfaced is that the guy who started it has admitted it was a hoax.

Mainstream media get it all wrong again.
