Is it fair? Or is it really a donkey law ...

Post by Ketchup »

Just wondering what's the opinion of folk here on this(?) : Court orders woman to pay £24,500 to private parking company

Personally, I am incensed that the Judge/Sheriff - whatever ... (legal eagle in charge) ruled in favour of the private parking company.
She had been living at a flat with her stepfather, who was a tenant and had a garage at the property.

Sheriff Way said Ms Mackie had parked outside the garage and would not accept the offer of a parking permit for a space nearby for £40 per month.

Seems an absurdly disproportionate sum of money.

It seems fairly cut and dried to me - she was fully informed of the situation and chose to ignore it. She should pay the parking charge.
Don't blame me - I voted remain :con

She's ignored the charges for a long time - on 'hundreds' of occasions. Not surprising the costs have built up.
