Not much detail on how this would be implemented but I can foresee it being abused.Stalkers will be hit with court orders from the moment their victims raise the alarm under new plans.
Police are to get new powers to apply for measures to stop people stalking strangers or acquaintances before it spirals out of control.
Suspected stalkers could be ordered to stay away from their targets or have their internet restricted even if they have not yet been arrested or charged.

The law seems prone to ignoring a problem for a long time, then suddenly overreacting - as with the handling of recent VIP paedophile conspiracy cases.
