Re: Runners and riders
The whole political situation in this country is getting so far-fetched that I need a dose of reality to provide some perspective. I know exactly what to read - I have a copy of Alice in Wonderland on my shelf.. :y

Re: Your new PM
One problem with current events - I am so rooted to the BBC's Politics Live site which is updated every few minutes, with occasional spells away to read the newspapers (despite the fact that they are history before being printed nowadays) that I find it very hard to get any work done.

Re: Your new PM and her cabinet
Boris might not be quite such a stupid appointment as it seems. After the last few weeks I thought I was beyond being surprised by any political developments but my jaw dropped when I heard that one. I suppose there is some logic to it. It puts a big tick in the "Brexiteers in senior posts&quo...

David Cameron's happy little hum... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-36767880 Can you blame him? Who in their right mind would want to be PM in present circumstances? In fact, it could be argued that a Catch 22 should apply: anyone crazy enough to want to be PM is, by definition, clearly too c...

Re: Runners and riders
I see that Labour (if one can use the term collectively at the moment) and the Lib Dems are calling for a General Election. I can see the argument over democractic legitimacy but at the moment I think we have far too much going on - and too much that urgently needs sorting out - to have such a massi...

Well, given the choice of candidates who put their names forward, May is probably the best one to be PM. I mean - Boris? Gove?Croydon13013 wrote:

Re: Runners and riders
Yet another dramatic development with Leadsom's withdrawal. It seems at the moment that May could be in Number 10 very quickly. A good thing IMO in terms of ending the current rudderless drift and getting some certainly over what's happening next. In contrast, the Labour contest grinds on like a slo...

Re: Brexit consequences
The BBC Reality Check does its usual thorough job in skewering those Brexiteers who were less than honest during the referendum campaign. As soon as they had recovered from the shock of winning and overcome their initial panic attack when they realised that people would now expect them to deliver on...
